imabench
FREEDO

I am debating on whether or not the US can eliminate its national debt within my lifetime.... FREEDO
Sieben

"In macroeconomics, full employment is a condition of the national economy, where all or nearly all persons willing and able to work at the prevailing wages and working conditions are able to do so. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_employment RESOLVED: The United States should establish a program to supply all willing and able civilians with a job. Any adverse effects of such a program would be out-weighed by it's benefits. Debating begins in round 2....

Pacifism

FREEDO
J.Kenyon

My first debate after getting back from my suspension! =D Oh Joy! I thank J.Kenyon for suggesting we debate this topic and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll probably lose seeing as I'm in a very small minority on this one. I gladly accept the burden of proof in this debate. I am arguing in favor of Pacifism and my opponent is arguing against it. I'm going to go right ahead and start. === DEFINITIONS === 1. Pacifism: paciĀ·fism . noun Opposition to war or violence as a...

Passing a kidney stone is more painful than giving birth.

ProHobo
FREEDO

For those few that have passed a kidney stone, we frequently hear statements that compare the pain to giving birth, such as "I have heard that is more painful than giving birth." Surprisingly, I have heard these statements from nurses and doctors, not just friends and family. I contend that the pain is as great if not more severe for passing a kidney stone vs. giving birth. Note: This is strictly a fun debate. I currently have and trying to pass my 3rd Kidney Stone (unfortunately this one...

God does NOT hate gay people

robbiesp
FREEDO

In this debate I intend to prove that most conservative Christians are wrong, and that God does not hate gay people, but sodomy(non-vaginal sex). Conservative Christians have long been pushing the error-ridden belief that God does not approve of homosexuality, with the majority of their conclusion coming from the book of Leviticus "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." However, the above quote is clearly saying that it is not homosexuality that is wrong, but hom...

Glenn Beck is a Nut-Case

I will be taking the PRO stance on Glenn Beck being a nut-case. That is to say, unsound and non-normal to a high degree in a negative way in relation to mental health. No tricky semantics or word-games may be used in this debate....

Minarchy(Pro) vs. Anarchy(Con)

FREEDO
Ragnar_Rahl

In this debate I will be defending the stance that Free-Market Anarchy is generally better than Minarchy and my opponent, if he accepts, will be arguing the otherwise. "Better", for this debate, will be defined as which would cause the most happiness, order, economic efficiency and over-all prosperity. The definitions of Free-Market Anarchism and Minarchy will not be confined to independent sources, rather how both I and my opponent describe our own systems to be within this debate. The...
