Waterboarding is a justified method of interrogation

rougeagent21

People tell me all the time that we cannot allow this "horrible atrocity" in America. I disagree strongly, and hope to sway a few opinions on this matter. So without further adu, the case for waterboarding. Does waterboarding work? Without a doubt, yes. Abu Zubayda broke after 35 seconds of being waterboarded and, according to the man who did it, the information he gave let us stop "…a number of attacks, maybe dozens of attacks". Torture is justified in saving lives- It is justified to us...

Gay Marraige Should Be Allowed.

sydnerella

Gays should be allowed to marry partners of their choice just as heterosexual couples do. It is ignorant in today's world to deny such a basic right to an individual because of something that is innate. Yes, sexuality is not a choice, it is innate. For my first point, let me state that a civil union is not a reasonable compromise for a legal marriage. Most civil unions don't have the same rights as a legal marriage has. Even if we made all civil unions exactly equal to legal marriage but cal...

Resolved: Social abortions ought not be legal in the US.

LightC

(Note: Only people who are familiar with LD should take this debate; however if you do not know LD and would till like to do it, I have no problem with that.) I affirm: Social abortions ought not be legal in the US. For analysis of the resolution I offer the following observations: 1. Resolution states "Social" abortions, therefore the resolution is dealing with the context of abortions excluding health related mother issues, or rape. 2. Resolution states "ought" implying some sort...

I can disprove evolution like i could disprove a book having no front cover.

GodSands

Lets start by introducing what evolution and creation have to say on this topic. Evolution tells us that life on earth has arose from slight less complex orgianiums into more structured and complex orgains. All based on mutaions, eviroment and the survival of the fit. Creation teaches that a supreme being normally named God, made all types of aminals, and none arose by chance or random selection. God made all the birds and fish, mamales, repties etc, then allowing variations with in a kind or...

Gravity does not exist.

GodSands

I an not see the force gavity seems to have on life, where is this phyical object, there is no hand in the sky bringing things together. Everything is floating and had a target place where it should belong, it may seem there is gravity but there isnt any. Why arnt all thing stuck together, with o spaces inbetween? There is no God because if there were then He would have made gravity so we wouldnt have to use flight to reach places like the moon. gravity is a belief not a law of science....

We Should Have A Stronger Border Fence

HelpMeWhenIFall
manutdredseal46

Good afternoon to all potential audience and to my opponent. I would like to thank my opponent for accepting my debate. I would like to start by expressing my concern. I feel that we need a concrete border to keep out all illegal immigrants. It is not fair to all of the hard working U.S. citizens to have their jobs and house taken of by illegals who do not need to be here....

People should not be named at birth

manutdredseal46

>I would like to thank my opponent (I do not yet know who he or she will be) for accepting this very abstract debate. >What I want to debate here is that naming of a human being at birth should not happen. I mean this extremely literally, nobody would have a name until a later point in life. >My argument is basically in four parts. They are as follows: 1. People may dislike the names given to them at birth 2. People could be given names at birth which would hinder them 3. People c...

The Dark Knight is not oscar-worthy.

baby_cheetah

It's a great film, and if reduced down to nothing but Ledger's joker performance, then it would be among the greatest films in history. But that's not the case and, as a whole, The Dark Knight is not oscar-worthy. I'll start with its most crucial flaw, but will be happy to elaborate on other flaws when and if anyone accepts my debate challenge. Here it is... Harvey Dent's crossover to 2-face. The hero-turned-villain concept is a magnificent tool to use...but only if it's used ever so craftily...

Really what is the truth about the earth and how we got here?

GodSands

20 billion years ago. Nothingness. Then suddenly some unknown atom massed outwards into space, if only we could get our hands on this "atom", as there was space for this explosion to expand into there had to be time and existing matter there before. According to science outside the universe, it's a void where nothing can exist. So how did anything come together to begin with? So far I would say im being logical. Then the next part is chemical evolution, how and where did all these chemicals get...
