Abortion is a Form of Euthanasia, and Should Be Treated as Such

Ren

Abortion, or the intentional cancellation of a pregnancy, is a form of euthanasia, which is defined as causing or assisting in the painless death of another. Legally and morally, these concepts should be synonymous and treated as such....

Islam is a direct threat to civilization.

InsertNameHere

This is based off a comment on Cerebral's profile: "Islam is a direct threat to civilisation and progress and efforts must be made to restrict Islamic immigration and to encourage progress in Muslim counties." This got me thinking and as a muslim I would like to challenge this statement. I will intend to argue that Islam has been progressive in ways both past and present, thus isn't a threat to society. Threat: a declaration of an intention or determination to inflict punishment, injury, etc...

Pre-Marital Sex

Witty11

First, I would like to say I am a virgin and am very strongly opinionated on this subject. Virginity is a virtue of which to be proud, and I will remain a virgin until I am married. DO NOT TAKE THIS DEBATE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME. I WOULD LIKE GOOD DEBATE, THANK YOU! Definition of marriage: A marriage is the relationship between a husband and wife. Definition of premarital: Premarital means happening at some time before someone gets married. Definition of wife: A married woman; a...

Time Travel is (theoretically) and will eventually be possible

Scyrone

I am Pro (affirming) the statement that Time Travel is possible. I will present the reasoning why. Time is defined as the numerically induced events between point 'a' and point 'c' where 'a' is infinitely in the past and 'c' is infinitely in the future, and point 'b' is the now (which philosophically is described as '.0000...1 (with the '0' recurring infinitely)). Time Travel will be defined as the ability to change the patterns and energies of atoms to look as though as if it were younge...

Should the National Aeronautics and space administration (NASA) be government funded?

KirstinKate
CaylaMichelle

Basic background on the topic:The USA's National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) was founded in 1958 as a response to the Cold War threat posed by the USSR's launch of the first artificial satellite. NASA rapidly responded with America's own successful launches of unmanned and unmanned space craft as part of a "space race" with the Soviet Union. Its most famous achievement was sending men to the moon, beginning with Neil Armstrong in 1969. Other achievements include launching the Skyl...

is physical force a justifiable method of punishing children?

KirstinKate
daboss

Basic background on the topic:This debate shares something with Corporal Punishment (for Adults), namely whether the infliction of physical pain can ever be justifiable; but the issue of ‘paddling' or spanking for children is less about punishment in itself and more about punishment as a means of education. How can young children learn the difference between right and wrong? How can teachers establish order in the classroom and enable a better environment for learning? Britain is a major example...

Banks should be nationalized in the United States

ilovgoogle
daboss

This financial crisis proves beyond a doubt that privatized banks fail. The problem lies with the "greed" within banks that go unchecked. We should not trust these banks that end up holding such a integral part of our economy. When these banks failed we were at their beg and call and came to bail them out. With nationalized banks this would not be the case. Greed would not be a factor and the investments in these toxic assets would have never happened. I look forward to my opponents response...
