About Me:	Well I used to be pretty serious about my activity on this site, but my interest died down after some time. I'm on here every now and then to participate in polls or debates which I find interesting enough. I grew up in Vancouver, Canada and have had my fair share of different cultures. Growing up with a rather liberal family, I adopted similar beliefs until I started being more independent and being subjected to conservative views, which caused me to consider myself more centrist than anything. I've had multiple experiences of being demonized by liberals for believing in border security or housing for Canadians before refugees, which has pushed me to side with groups such as Patriot Prayer which I disagree with on almost every issue, but get along with better than the alternative. Finally, I worked as a financial advisor for a couple years and am on my way to becoming a CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency) Officer.
Activities:	Anything and everything. I'm in the process of writing a novel and have a publisher lined up, so shouldn't be too much longer until I'm using this site as free advertising instead of productive debates, lol. Used to be big into raving and clubbing, but that's died down a bit unless there's a great dubstep DJ in town like Excision or Datsik. I'm in the process of starting up a YouTube channel based around covering protests in the city and tearing apart fake news stories I find from time to time. I'm working at a private gym while I prepare to start with the CBSA and work out almost daily. Other than that, hitting up bars or going to the theatre, playing NHL or CoD on PS4, and running the seawall are always a good time. Oh and I love sex. Yeah Mikal what's up.
Beliefs:	Politically, I'm more centrist than anything. I fall ever so slightly left on social issues and mostly right economically. I support Donald Trump mainly for the voice he's allowed right wingers to have, which has been silenced by mainstream media and tolerant liberals for way too long, and that's prevalent in how liberals are reacting to right wingers finally expressing their freedom of speech. With that being said, I'm an atheist who believes religion is pretty outdated in today's day and age, but I have nothing against religious people as long as they aren't pushing it on anyone else.
Books:	I don't read much, but Stephen King's stuff is pretty good. Just recently got Jordan Peterson's "12 Rules for Life" which is amazing.
Movies:	Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, American History X, God Bless America, Alien/Aliens, Django, Full Metal Jacket, and loads more.
Music:	Excision, Datsik, and most dubstep from the 2010-2013 era. Eminem, Hollywood Undead and some other artists are good too. I enjoy most music regardless of genre, but never remember what it is I like so I'd make the worst DJ.

TV Shows:	Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House, Dexter, Hell's Kitchen... that's about it. I don't watch a lot of TV, if I start watching a show I get hooked pretty easily and need to dedicate so much time that can be used for something else, lol.

When the Rohingyas/Syrians come to our doorsteps, do we embrace them, or cast them away?

The Rohingyas are but human beings just like us, so why do we cast them away like they are nothing? These people have traveled across the dangerous seas, wishing to find a new home where they can start their lives all over again. So why shouldn't we help them? I believe that as part of the world that has the ability to help these refugees that we should do as much as we can to help them, like opening our borders to ALL and ANY refugee until we do not have the ability to assist them anymore....

•	Abortion	ProComments In a sense I would consider this euthanasia - if you're unable to support the child, or he/she will grow up in a horrible environment or with some kind of disorder - you're putting them out of their misery, and not even allowing them to suffer at all. It also won't be mandatory - Tarik - so if a woman wants an abortion, it would make more sense for a professional surgeon to do what she wants instead of her doing it herself, wouldn't you say?
•	Affirmative Action	ConComments If you want a job, you gotta work for it. I'm all for equal opportunity, but it seems like this idea is leaning too far toward the "give it to them because their race/group doesn't have much." This is not benficial to society and there's no reason a less qualified person should get a job over a more qualified person. Although I would agree if people are equally qualified, it would be a generous thing to give the position to the person with less wealth, it doesn't seem this is necessarily the entirety of affermative action.
•	Animal Rights	ProComments This topic is worded very strangely... If I'm pro, it seems like I'm pro animal testing... but if I'm con, it could look like I'm against animal rights.... Well I'll pick pro because I am pro animal rights. There's no reason any animal has to suffer. I understand we need food, but I'm talking about things like testing cosmetic products... why don't we test them on who's going to be using them? Why is it morally wrong to harm a human but not morally wrong to harm an animal? We both feel the same pain.

The reason I'm against him is because too many people voted for him simply because he's (half) black, and too many people use that as an excuse to do what they want. A lot of the people I personally know who voted said flat out "yeah he's black, it'll be a big difference and we need a black president." So basically, "he's black, he has my vote," and nothing else.

•	Death Penalty	ConComments What would make more sense to do to someone who killed your family - to allow them to leave their existence and be put out of any type of misery, or to rot in prison for the rest of their life, being beaten and harassed and assaulted regularly? Some people believe death is an escape from a true punishment, and I'm one of them. I'm not religious, I don't believe I'm going to Hell once I die, and I'd rather see what happens after death than suffer while I'm living. So why not actually punish people instead of letting them go? Other than saving money of course, which is a good rebuttal.

There would be less crime related to drugs, less deaths, less innocent bystanders getting caught in the crossfire, the government would gain a LOT of money, and there wouldn't be annoying "legalize it" rallies.
