Beliefs: | I am most easily described as a libertarian socialist because I both believe in the great importance of civil liberties, but I also believe that neoliberalism and capitalism are not fair to all citizens and in many ways stifle democracy. I do not however, believe in welfare to those who could work but chose not to. I believe that we should always have the tools ready to fight a revolution. I am an agnostic learner. I believe in finding the truth more than being faithful to one single dogma from any spectrum. I do not believe in free will, because it is not compatible with the obvious existence of determinism and I believe that we are simply a product of circumstances. In order to stave off regret one should live by no other's rule than thine own and always remember that one is never able to live up to his or her own expectations and ideals. |

Resolved: Military Conscription is unjust

Greetings and good luck to my opponent. I hope the best debater wins. The title seems to be straightforward; however, I will use some definitions to clarify it: Military 1. Of or pertaining to soldiers, to arms, or to war; belonging to, engaged in, or appropriate to, the affairs of war; as, a military parade; military discipline; military bravery; military conduct; military renown. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Military) con·scrip·tion –noun 1. compulsory enrollment of pe...
Worshiping God

Here's my problem. God simply cannot be omnipotent, perfect, and loving (which Christianity and other major religions preach). Take life as a case study, all around us there are gross injustices. Cut throat business men get ahead, good guys finish last. Charity and kindness are laughed at, materialism and opulence are exalted. Millions are slaughtered in war, genocide, natural disasters; others are tortured, raped, beaten, scarred. Diseases ravage and deplete entire generations, children grow up...
USA should nuke everybody.

Well, Americans are clearly the best. Why should anyone else exist? All the other countries are just annoying and really don't help us much any ways. So, the only logical solution is to nuke everyone. I have the good ol' mentality of "If your not with us, your against us." And I just don't mean if they agree with us on SOMETHINGS. If our good ol' president says they will eat good ol' American Steak every night at 2000 Zulu time then everyone will eat steak. Cause if they don't that can be taken...
My Opponent cannot prove there is a god.

My opponent will not be able to prove the existence of God. Proof, I might ad, is the absence of question. My opponent cannot prove there is a god by saying "faith is enough." Or "Mary Magdalene appeared on that piece of French Toast, therefore the is a god." Proof is not theory, proof is not innuendo or supposition, and proof is not opinion. I eagerly await an opponent with incontrovertible proof that a god exists....
Education is a human right.

First, I wish my opponent good luck and may the best debater win the vote. The only definitions I have for this debate are as follows: Human right - any basic right or freedom to which all human beings are entitled and in whose exercise a government may not interfere (including rights to life and liberty as well as freedom of thought and expression and equality before the law) http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/human%20right Liberty- 1: the quality or state of being free: a: the...
