Is the Christian God Worthy of Worship?

I believe that the Christian God is worthy of my worship and everyone elses. You talk about him being very evil. My question would be "What standard are you going by?" Who defines right and wrong? Government? Culture? Individual? If that is the case, anyone can justify themselves. God is above all the law. He made us, he can do what he wants. Who are you to judge him? Everything he did had a purpose....

•	Abortion	ProComments There can be no law which limits the rights and freedoms of women in America. There can be no law which uses subjective, religious morality to curtail the rights and freedoms of a specific gender. There can be no law which places the rights and freedoms of a lump of cells over the rights and freedoms of a woman. Abortion is a sad thing, and it is made more difficult by the zealots who vilify those who undergo the procedure.

•	Animal Rights	N/SComments I love animals. I want to preserve the various species, and promote a healthy environment for them (and us) to thrive in. That being said. I also enjoy eating animals. If we weren't meant to eat them, they wouldn't be made from delicious meat. In all seriousness, cruelty should be prevented. Livestock should be happy until they are food. Livestock should be clean, and healthy. Livestock should never be physically abused 'just because it's going to be food'. A person or a society can both be judged according to how they treat their lessors. Those who revel in the death and destruction of life in any form practice a flawed way of thinking.
•	Barack Obama	ProComments As furious as i am at the Centrist 'n Chief, he was far better of an alternative than his opponents. The Obama Presidency hasn't been so much about electing a great leader, as preventing the financial industry from hijacking the executive branch. Sadly, Obama has been a centrist bordering on staunch conservative. What is most obnoxious is not his centrism, but the insistence by right wing propaganda in the media, that he is the most Liberal, most Socialist President to have ever lived. Obama's administration brought out the willful ignorance and culture of exclusion which has plagued the GOP for over four decades. For that alone I still commend them.
•	Border Fence	ConComments Building a fence doesn't keep squirrels out of your yard. Squirrels can climb. Also, fences aren't cheap. So why would we build a fence on the southern border? Those who want to be here will simply climb it, dig under it (check the Tijuana tunnels) or drive/cut/rip through it. The cost of repairing the inevitably broken fence? Unfunded, I'm sure. Another ancillary, useless 'infrastructure' to spend capital we don't have on. A border fence is the anti-immigration reformer's last bastion of defense. They think it will answer the question of how to prevent illegal immigration. But their politicians know better. The GOP just wants to be able to tout the cost of the fence when vilifying illegals. EX - "We spent $Xbillion on the fence, and President SO AND SO just wants to let those illegals stay!?" It's just another way to try and blame government spending (Military spending predominately) on the poors, the immigrants and the people of color. Why not Canada too?
•	Capitalism	ConComments I don't know if I would be in favor of Capitalism, because I've never experienced it. As an American who is aware of reality, I recognize that our nation has not been a Capitalist nation for over a century. Laissez faire Capitalism died in the late 1700s. America began as a mercantile nation, using government influence to establish trade lines with nations as far reaching as the Ottoman Empire. We had a domestic capitalism, exploiting slave labor, of course, to keep cost low. Internationally, however, American goods had to be brought to market, and that's when "socialism" rears it's inevitable and oft demonized head. I'm no communist. I respect the nature of humanity far too much to assume the Soviets are incorruptible. But neither am I dogmatically supportive of the Frankenstein version of Social Capitalism practiced by America. Especially considering our nation's willingness to go to war purely for selfish, oligarchical economic interests since WWII.

Currency is a tenuous aspect of economics, and is subject to a number of factors outside of the typical supply side economic theory. Still, currency should not be attached to a single, finite resource, as other nations of the world hold great influence over specific materials, such as gold, silver and titanium in Russia, and platinum in south America. Currency should be weighted off of the value of essential goods. $1 is worth exactly xlbs/ounces of x good, or x material (iron, steel, industrial goods.) Wealth by it's very nature requires a kind of vanity. A vast horde of gold in a desert is nothing to a man who cannot feed his family. Without roads, what good is gold? Without agriculture, what good is metallic wealth? The gold standard, just as any other currency standard based on precious metal, is built from an imperial historic perspective. Wealth is subjective.

Corporations don't speak for the worker, because fair pay hurts their bottom line and CEO bonuses/shareholder interest. Small businesses don't speak for the worker, because they are dwindling under the pressure of government subsidized corporate competition. Anyone who argues against labor unions likely does not fully understand economies of scale.

•	Redistribution	ProComments Natural wealth distribution is vital to a stable, sustainable society. Where vast dichotomies exist between haves and have-nots, revolution quickly follows. America has been in the midst of a social, civil rights revolution for several decades. The top down distribution of wealth was the entire purpose of trickle down economics, yet that purpose failed. Young people are aloof and disenfranchised with their government and their nation. If the current trends continue. America is shaping up to look like China, where the workers have no power, no freedom and no choices of employer. The creation of job scarcity, and the accumulation of wealth at the very top, requires the lowest on the ladder rung to "happily" accept the scraps they can find. This balance will slowly shift in the coming century. If the wealth doesn't trickle down fast enough, and cost of living increases so dramatically, we will see violence from those who must choose between food and clothing.
