I will do TWO debates (if possible) of the three you asked. If I can't I would like to do them in: Switch vs. Wii, Then Switch vs. NES. I will take the debate on Wii vs Switch, And NES vs Switch (because I play lots of Nintendo)

I will take the following stances:

Switch

Switch

That means you take the stances of:

Wii

NES

You asked to tell you your stances, So you will take Wii and NES.

I took both stances on Switch because Switch is awsum <3.
Debate Round No. 1

Because the instruction said that only one at a time is possible, So i will take the side of the wii. The Nes is not involved unless requested.

#1: controllers

Wii (and possibly wii u) has better controller designs. By that i mean wii has better and iconic designs.

The default controller is literally like a remote like the one you use on a TV. By that said that you can possibly use this controller in at least 2 different way: horizontal and vertical. Although it may not seem as convenient as the switch pro, But hey we are talking about defaults. One pair of default switch joycons costs possibly $70 yet it's really bad in terms of control when not portable, Such as on a tv. In contrast enough wii remotes only costs $8. 65, More or less, And yet its main use is on a tv, Which is still slightly convenient, And much more consider playing switch on a tv on a joycon is like inconvenient.

moving on to the upgraded controllers. The switch's pro controller is literally a used Xbox design. And that is possibly all other variants on the opened market. All of them are a variant of an xbox controller($25) (technically a pair of joycons are a sliced and reduced xbox controller too). Compare to wii, Its designs are very creative and sometimes convenient. The joycons are just a design fail. By that means of the wii classic/pro controller is the same thing ($11), But there are other usable accessories, Such as the sensor bar ($2) and the nunchuck ($4), And possibly some iconic (and ironic) ones, The wii speak ($9). By in the brackets i listed all the prices for the controller. My claim is that switch pro controller is too boring and joycons are too trash, Not worth it. The joycons are also too small, Making it easy to lose. Thus switch=expensive. Switch is almost the same price of the wii, And plus the normal wiimote and the joycons the switch, The small one is actually more expensive.

The Wii has not won over the Switch in any aspect other than nostalgia, Here's why:

Controllers:

As controllers seem to be your main point, I will make it mine as well. Controllers for the Wii had many more flaws than a Controller for the Switch had. The switch may have cost more, But it is WAAAY more reliable. The Controller for the Wii had many problems, Like:

  • CONSTANT CALIBRATION. Seriously, The Controller had to be calibrated every 5 seconds on Wii sports, And Wario land: Shake it. Two of the most iconic games involving gyroscopes.

  • Flimsy, Yet deadly. The Wii was known to constantly break electronics, And was made a meme from it. However, Certain versions could not hold as much when it came to actual shaking, And could easily break when they were made with in-game Motion-Plus. I know from family and personal experience, They last months less than the Switch.

  • Low battery: If you played the Wii a lot like I did, You notice they were only $30, But had very little battery life. Sometimes, The battery would last only half an hour, And depending on the type of controller you get and its design, The controller can have very little battery.

  • It was constantly recharged, And required AA batteries, A waste of money.

The Switch controllers however, Are much better. In them, You get:

  • TWO full controllers, With 4 buttons, A joystick, R1 and L1 buttons, And a pressable joystick for one controller.

  • It had hours worth of playing capabilities. It had a well-equipped battery, And could easily play for hours. I know this from Personal Experience as well.

  • Compact Controller's. Unlike the Wii, Which wasn't at ALL portable, The controller's attach to the console itself, A huge asset to the playing experience, And could donate battery life to keep the console alive longer.

  • It had more configurations than the Wii. Double controller's, Vertical Single controller, Horizontal single controller, Handheld double (basically had gyroscopes w/double controller config. )

No, The switch controller is not a rip-off of an X-Box controller. The pro controller is similar, However. It contains a similar aesthetic, But the X-Box controller is larger, And thicker, The key difference between X-Box and Ps4, Slim design vs. Bigger is Better.

Not only this, But I will talk about the gameplay of the Wii vs Switch.

Wii had very few 3rd Party games. It had Chick Chick Boom, Cave Story Remastered, And X-Com, But that is really it. When it came to the Switch, 3rd parties are plentiful.

You had:

  • Undertale

  • Bayonetta series

  • Square Enix + almost the entire FF series <3

  • Stardew Valley

  • Skyrim

  • Many, MANY MORE

  • Cuphead

On top of this, We should talk about the console itself! The Switch is a very versatile console. It can play in a locked mode, With a better graphics capability and performance. And it can play portable. The portable mode is the best yet. It has amazing graphics for a tablet, Is versatile, And can perform nearly everything that a tablet can, But on Nintendo. Unless you plan to fight the arguable best tablet there is, Good luck debating it. Also, The Wii isn't exactly portable. . . The Switc has hours of gmeplay, Sucked away by amazing games. Speaking of which. . .

The Switch had far superior games. Including the list above, Are some AMAZING GAMES THE SWITCH HAS TO OFFER:

  • Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

  • Any Wii game with LoZ

  • Smash Bros Ultimate

  • Entire Kirby Series

  • Entire Mario series

  • Mario party Series

  • Many, Many Indie Games

  • Detention (a 2D horror game that's AWSUM)

  • Game Dev story + any dev story

  • Hollow Knight

  • Street fighter series

  • ACA NeoGeo games

  • A bunch of other's

The Switch had what the Wii didn't, Good gameplay, Some of the best controller's, And a portable design. It had better graphics, Design, And Performance. On top of this, It had some of the most iconic games, Like Smash, Mario, Kirby, LoZ, And 3rd party games.

You did not wrote much, Instead you just spaced out very big between the sections.

rebuttals:

"The switch may have cost more, But it is WAAAY more reliable. "
"CONSTANT CALIBRATION. Seriously, The Controller had to be calibrated every 5 seconds on Wii sports, And Wario land: Shake it. Two of the most iconic games involving gyroscopes. "

Well totally not wrong. But those joycons costs $70. True. Only $10 is needed for A PAIR of wii controllers, By that only one of them is needed to be working. So you can buy 14 wii controllers worth enough joycons that is capable of the same thing. You can keep more than one wii controllers.

You can say that switch joycons are more reliable. Well do you want to drive a ferrari or a Honda based on your wallet? I guess honda. Because your money cannot afford a real life size ferrari. The controllers are the same thing. Suppose you can buy 14 wii controllers to buy switch joycons, Yet wii controllers are bigger in size and not as easy to lose. If you buy 14 wii controllers do you need to calibrate the controller every time? On the other side if the joycons are used outside the portable conversion, It would be even harder to use since everything is so tiny and overly subtle, Thus making the controller itself harder to use.

if at least 2 wii game uses gyroscope and you just use it to complain, Then i don't know if they just don't care or you just trash at gaming. People can beat those games with gyroscopes. That makes it complain. If you're not used to it, Then don't even bother.

"Low battery: If you played the Wii a lot like I did, You notice they were only $30, But had very little battery life. "

A new wii costs like at least $200. Those $30 ones are secondhand. Of course they would break because they are possibly used. You act like it is something new.

Low battery? How did those people play on it? Again you know connecting it on wire is an option. You know it is made from, 2006. You know it in 2006 it is not all perfect. But it is still usable. I would rather recharge my battery than actually play from this controller by switch. Like how do people use joycons when not portable? It is so small that compact isn't good here. Aside, The pro controller is on the bandwagon, But this is like the xbox, But nothing like it at all. It is a ripoff.

the wii controller is original. It had its own designs, And it was convenient for some years. Especially the classic controller. It was well-designed for many reasons.

"TWO full controllers, With 4 buttons, A joystick, R1 and L1 buttons, And a pressable joystick for one controller. "

the switch joycons are compact, But compact isn't always good. In fact, Even if i play switch, I'd rather use the pro controller. It costs less and plays better. You could argue switch controllers are better than wii's, But you cannot argue that the joycons are better than the pro.

"It had more configurations than the Wii. Double controller's, Vertical Single controller, Horizontal single controller, Handheld double (basically had gyroscopes w/double controller config. "

No wonder switch games are so confusing. Because some games requires you play as single vertical and others handheld double. It exists. At least wii controllers doesn't need to change directions so much within games. Only vertical and horizontal were added and needed.

"The Switch had far superior games. Including the list above, Are some AMAZING GAMES THE SWITCH HAS TO OFFER:"

Can we talk about how wii is made in 2006 and switch 2017? Sure the wii gives nostalgia but it is 2006, What do you need? In the age of the games in which evolves so quickly, Move behind 11 years, In 1995 we are still playing mario 64 in which is very unnatural, And in 1984 we are still playing arcades. 11 years is a lot in terms of electronics. Those games were added AFTER the wii was made. Do you think the wii is built for games after it? Well not all. Age gives advantage, But in terms of the present year in which it is established, The wii doesn't lose anything in 2006.

"And it can play portable. The portable mode is the best yet. It has amazing graphics for a tablet, Is versatile, And can perform nearly everything that a tablet can, But on Nintendo. Unless you plan to fight the arguable best tablet there is, Good luck debating it. Also, The Wii isn't exactly portable. . . "

Well just explained. We don't expect gta 5 from a gameboy. We don't expect touchscreen and portables from the original wii since it is in 2006, Before tablets are even popular. Also ipads and any tablets such as portable switch releases more blu-ray. I have glasses just because of blu-ray. Don't pick up a fight on blu-ray is real here or not. But playing on a tv is healthier for your eyes. It sends you a rest message also because of that.

"Some of the best controller's"

not controller's. Controllers. Also no.

"On top of this, It had some of the most iconic games, Like Smash, Mario, Kirby, LoZ, And 3rd party games. "

The only reason is that this is newer. Wii isn't built for all games after its invention. We think new zelda is iconic but really wii had iconics for the period. We think pong is trash now but it was iconic back then. Also, Wii u is basically the son of wii and switch the nephew. The switch is just an indirect descendant of the wii. So it is like debating with your uncle.

wii is old and gold. I stated reasons.

see you next round.

Con

1: I'm sorry for the spacing, The cite spaces them out extraordinarily, And I have reverted back to simple text rather than Rich text.

Second, You seem to talk about controllers a lot, So I'll continue. The Joy-Cons are much better of a console controller than the Wii controllers. You talk about them like they are some child's candy! Joy cons aren't easily lost, Because THEY PLUG INTO THE CONSOLE! You can't lose the controller without losing the tablet too, Which if you are telling me someone would do THAT, Then you might want to reconsider your faith into other people's memories. Speaking of losing something expensive, Where do you expect a situation where a person would lose a Joy-Con? Someone spent $70 on these Joy-Cons, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't lose it that easily.

Also, You talk about the Wii being less likely to lose, But what is your point here? A Wii remote is larger, But you don't take it with you wherever, Whenever, Like the Joy-Cons, A Wii isn't portable! Do you expect someone to just randomly hold a Wii remote in their backpack and say, "oops, I lost my Wii remote after I left it somewhere on the bus! " Really?

Third, The Joy-Cons are much better sized for playing than a Wii remote. You evaded the question of the constant calibration by dodging the attack saying, "Its too small" to play. You know, That the J. C. Can be increased in size with adaptations, Right? And you can see adults playing them in commercials all the time, And it fits their hands well! (They're not midgets, And they didn't have TINY hands, So don't say their an exception)

Fourth about the controllers, The $30 controllers were the prices for NEW controller's. My family was the quickest to jump on the new Wii release, And since it only came with two, We had to buy another pair for $20 (it was $10 off for a Christmas sale). The Walmart we bought it at had a different styled design and wasn't made by the big N but was given the Nintendo Seal on it to prove it was legit. The controller had good battery life at first, But soon the controller had issues with battery after 4 months. We bought another controller. This one was manufactured by Nintendo themselves, But started having issues another 6 months in. By now, I had bought 4 controllers, A total of $50. The Joy-Cons gives 2 controllers, And don't have these issues.

The question comes to reliability, Over price. Would you rather have one controller that costs $20 more and give you triple the battery, Or would you rather pay for a cheap one, That can't hold as much battery?

Again, On the controller aspect. He talks about how the J. C is too compact. However, The only compact feature is the L and R horizontals. And even then, There are FREE adaptations that increase the size of these.

Also, The Wii design wasn't original. It looks very similar to an original N. E. S. Pad. It has the 4-way movement on one side, And the two buttons on the right. So did the Wii, But with 2 exceptions:
An A button
And 1 Side button.

"No wonder switch games are so confusing. Because some games requires you play as single vertical and others handheld double. It exists. At least Wii controllers doesn't need to change directions so much within games. Only vertical and horizontal were added and needed. "

No, They aren't confusing. I can guarantee you that the games like LoZ: BtW had 3 of the 4 configurations! And this isn't an exception, It is also the case with most gyroscope games! It is a rare occasion to see a game require Single Vertical, So you can see they're not confusing.

Also, My opponent refuses to answer everything and dodges it because it was "2006". You can see that in 3 of his rebuttals. I'm debating the wellness of the console RELEVANT TO ITS TIME. That means no more excuses for it because its "2006" mate.

My opponent dodges the questions about the more iconic games by saying, Again, "Wii isn't built for all games after its invention. " However, I didn't say that Switch had better games due to it being more relevant, I tried to point out that all the games are more iconic than the Wii's collection
Again, Only a few this time, Include:
Undertale
Bayonetta series
Final Fantasy series
Smash Ultimate
Animal Crossing Series

"not controller's. Controllers"
Oh, So you want a tally of YOUR grammar mistakes? Ok!

"You did not wrote much, " -- Write
" Instead you just spaced out very big between the sections. " -- Add a subject to the second half, I spaced out what between sections?

"Well totally not wrong. " -- Wrong adjective order
"I guess honda" -- Incorrect capitalization
"Suppose you can buy 14 wii controllers to buy switch joycons, Yet wii controllers are bigger in size and not as easy to lose" -- There is incorrect capitalization in the words: Wii, Joy-Cons, And Wii again.

"That makes it complain" --? I can't even understand what you are mentioning in this sentence!
"if at least 2 wii game uses gyroscope and you just use it to complain, Then i don't know if they just don't care or you just trash at gaming. -- Incorrect capitalization in the word "if" and the word "Then" "i" in "i don't know if they just don't care" and of course that is bad conduct, Don't call other people "trash. "
"You know it is made from, 2006" -- Incorrect comma placement.
"You know it in 2006 it is not all perfect" -- incorrect preposition, "in" rather than "is. "
"But this is like the xbox, But nothing like it at all. " -- Incorrect grammar on "But" twice, "xbox, " should be "Xbox" because it is trademarked.

"the wii controller is original. " -- Incorrect capitalization on the words "the" and "wii"
"the switch joycons are compact, But compact isn't always good" -- Incorrect grammar in the words "the" "switch joycons" "But". -- There was also a forgotten apostrophe on "joycons" because you reference multiple joycons, It should be "joycons'".
"No wonder switch games are so confusing" -- Switch should be capitalized. It's a proper noun!

Do I need to continue? I'm 3/4 the way through his speech, And those are all I found for just that one speech.

Just admit it. The Switch, Relative to its time is a much better design. If you want original, Let's talk about the first handheld and docked console (laptops don't count)! And don't take the fact that it was made about 10 years earlier, That it shouldn't count and try to play around my questions. This time, I expect you to rebuttal them, But don't use the excuse, "it was made in 2006. " I want a better console according to relevancy, Not which is better overall.

In this argument, I am not going to do any rebuttals. I am not even trying to try to actually win the debate, Just to state why the Wii is better in my opinion. If you actually like the switch then enjoy it yourself. I barely play on the switch and thus don't understand you, But I am a real wii fan, And it is important to me.

the wii creates a very substantial system that even switch uses. The Mii editor system. It is simply a miime (pun intended) on the internet and being used by a lot of other games, Such as Super mario maker. The wii simply invented that and was really useful especially for profiles. I know at that times 3d isn't too advanced, But even in 2019 we still cherish the mii system for being profiles for many games.

the use of the wii is contented. You can literally use youtube on it (or did use) the wii is substantial to the evolution (pun intended) of the gaming history, And the switch only improved on it, Not created it on its own for everything. It may not be the best, But it is important to the gaming evolution consider many new ideas were first proposed in the wii. Games were invented and most of them just jumped from wii to wii u and switch.

My opinion is done. You can write whatever you want. But my opinion is here. I love the wii. That's all.

Don't get me wrong, The Wii did pioneer plenty of good things, But I just think that the Switch is an improvement to that. I think the Switch did use those that were pioneered in Wii, But I think that the Switch added on to that. Yes, The Wii was the first, And nostalgia and history matter. However, The Switch, I find, Is just better than the Wii. Yes, They explored like many other's, The avatar selection, And Wii took this to a WHOLE new level. They added interaction with them, Which the Xbox 360 didn't do, And the Switch allowed your characters to fight in Smash Ultimate. I think the Wii is great, And everyone should. I just think that the Switch did it, Well, Better.
