I don't believe abortion is ethical under any circumstance, Exclusive of when the mother's life is in danger, Because of course the mother comes first in that particular scenario. However, For example, In the case of rape, I don't believe that the child in the womb should receive the death penalty for the crimes of the father. The rapist should be tracked down and held at the full extent of the law, For his abhorrent crime.
As for the mother, She should be given all the support that she can possibly be given, To help her throughout her pregnancy, By the way of state funded services and charities, Not Planned Parenthood!
If you had ever encountered the child of a rape victim or a woman who carried through with her pregnancy after suffering the horrific transgression: rape, You would become cognisant of the fact that having the child is not as awful as it is made out to be, That actually your very own unique child might help you through the pain of the past.
All governments should stop funding baby genocidal organisations, Like Planned Parenthood and start funding services to actually support women through pregnancies and make their difficult situations pleasant and make them feel like they are cared about.
Abortion does not unrape you or make you unpregnant, It just makes you the parent of a deceased child. You cannot solve one violent act by another one.

Abortion should always be an option for a soon to be mother. The mother's life should always be given priority, No matter what. A person living their life opposed the fetus who is not yet conscious, The person holds more importance. In the case of rape, I agree with the rapist suffering the full consequence of the law but for the mother to give birth to the rapist's child is forcing the mother to relive the memories of the rape over and over. The sight of the child would likely cause psychological problems and to give the child up for adoption would further the mother's pain. The most ethical option for all conscious parties involved would be to abort the child. For a mother who planned a child with HER partner of HER choosing, I agree she should receive all the support she needs. Yes, The child of a rapist may not come out to be terrible, But nonetheless, Psychological problems can hold back the mother from moving on from the unpleasant chapter in her life. If the child is given up for adoption, The child could grow to believe they are a monster similar to their father or grow up alone and isolated never fully living life having lacked the necessary tools to succeed in life. Government funding for Planned Parenthood does not actually pay for abortions, As explicitly stated by the company. All Government funding is forwarded towards helping mothers through pregnancies. Abortions give you a second chance to be prepared for when you want to be a child. It doesn't make you a killer, It makes you a person who thinks for both the child and yourself. Having a child when you aren't ready can ruin the lives of all parties involved. Abortions are far from violent acts as it a humane way of ending a pregnancy without following through the entire pregnancy.

As my opponent did not reply, I will reply to Cello242's comment.

Yes, I am well aware of the sort of depression that can occur after an abortion and in some cases can occur annually during the time of the abortion. It does happen and it is a terrible thing, But I do believe that only a certain number of mothers who abort suffer from that side effect and that doesn't compare to the amount of almost guaranteed pain the mother would feel. The mothers who are more likely to commit suicide after an abortion is likely due to the lack of government funds or funds in general that companies like Planned Parenthood need to help a mother cope with the aftermath of an abortion. Also, Mothers who do regret getting an abortion are likely not rape victims. If the child was made on accident and the mother and father aren't prepared for parenthood, An abortion is a good choice but not the cause. I do not believe that they regret the choice of getting an abortion, I believe that most people whom you speak of regret not being careful enough or not prepared enough to be a parent.

I do not see how making a admission of guilt helped in any way to that surcimstance you described as it simply just seeks public approval. It could have all taken place without the admission at all.

Pro, I appreciate your sentiment for both the mother and the child. However, Psychological problems can occur for the mother who does get an abortion as well. Women who get abortions are more than 150% more likely to commit suicide than women who don"t. More women who do get abortions regret them later in life than ones that don"t regret them too.

i once new a person age 30 still living at home and had high scale Asperger syndrome and anger issues which where easily triggered. She had just had a baby boy; who at less then the age of one was taken from her because she was an "unsuitable mom". She was still living at home and had simply had sex with a dodgy guy and not told any one till the family all noticed a sizable lump. Of course after many court cases and a foster home the kid was out up fro adoption. No one wanted him for fear the psychological issues of the mother and father where hereditary. The mom of course got worst and became angry. Non of her family members could help her because she was so angry and violent; and they did try. It got so bad she couldn't live at home any more. About a year later she is still fighting for her adoption kid.
and she does it again, With no surprise shortly followed an abortion.
before that i didn't really agree with an abortion but it was the best thing for her and the kid and i believe she did the right thing.
do you think it was right she had an abortion?

Isn't Pregnancy abortion simply an admission of guilt?
Do admission of guilt need be shared as a united state by people according to gender alone?

Doesn't a person have the right to separate themselves from admission of guilt by simply not making the admission publicly?

Female specific amputation is not admitting to officially stop life, Yet can be proven to be officially stopping life that normally ends in a natural process of death. At some time does this mean it is still an admission of guilt?

Abortion is an easily achievable possibility and therefore inevitable.
