I believe that women and men do not receive equal opportunities in life. In spite of a plethora of data proving that women are not equal to men in America, Many people disagree with the premise of feminism, Arguing that women already are equal to men, Or that their gains haven't matched men's because they haven't worked hard enough, Or that women and men are inherently and biologically different and cannot be compared. Others agree that women's rights are a noble cause, But that men's rights aren't given the same consideration. Despite the fact that women are more educated and more employed than ever before, They're still tasked with the majority of household duties. Forbes reported that 54 per cent of women take maternity leave, While just 42 per cent of men take time away from their jobs. As women make the cross over into workspaces mostly occupied by men, Often in search of higher salaries with more benefits, The opposite actually happens"the average pay for the industry tends to drop significantly over time, Confirms The New York Times. Women pay more for common household items than men do. Shampoo, Deodorant--even a 10-pack of socks are among the many products that cost more for women, According to an analysis by Marie Claire. Therefore, Men and women don't receive equal opportunities in life.

Hello,

I do not see sufficient evidence shown here that would indicate that the 2 genders are not given equal opportunity.

"Despite the fact that women are more educated and more employed than ever before, They're still tasked with the majority of household duties. "

Correct. But this is their choice. This is no way proves that they are not given unequal opportunity. This simply shows different outcomes. Women are more likely then men to stay at home. And it's not a bad thing. Being a homemaker is one of the toughest jobs out there.

"Forbes reported that 54 percent of women take maternity leave, While just 42 percent of men take time away from their jobs. "

Correct. How does this prove men and women aren't given equal opportunities? Men choosing to go to work and spend less time at home then women is their choice. Their choice. Again, You prove different outcomes without proving unequal opportunity.

"As women make the cross over into workspaces mostly occupied by men, Often in search of higher salaries with more benefits, The opposite actually happens"the average pay for the industry tends to drop significantly over time, Confirms The New York Times.

"Women pay more for common household items than men do. "

Correct. Marketers know that the women control the market more than men do (the average woman shops more than the average man. ) Sure, Women have it harder than men this way. They pay slightly more than men for household products. Men have it harder in some areas, Women have it harder in other areas. This is not enough proof for me to believe that men and women don't receive equal opportunities. You are going to justify the claim that women are not equal to men because they have to pay slightly more than men do for household items? If you are able to justify the claim that men and women don't receive equal opportunities in life with such brittle evidence, Then surely you concede that since 93% of workplace deaths are men, Surely society must be sexist against men? Surely men do not receive the same opportunity as women do?

See, I am all for equality between men and women. But you must point me to the specific laws, The specific evidence that are sexist so we can fight them together. I must see the evidence that society as a whole is sexist against women. I do not see the sufficient evidence.
