Fine, I will bite the dust on the point where I used to think bikinis should be banned as clothes. But that doesn't mean it is any useful either. So far, It is the LEAST useful types of clothing ever coming from a market.

clothes' primary use is to provide comfort, And the secondary use is to yield elegance and beauty. If a type of clothing satisfy the primary but not the secondary it is still better than another type which is better yielding beauty but just bad at protection and comfort.

Comfort and Protection type clothes include- sportswears, Overcoats, T-shirts, Bulletproof vests, Etc.

Elegance and Beauty type clothes include- Suites, Halloween costumes, Designer clothes, And of course, Bikini.

So far, Bikini excel at the secondary field, But it fails at the first field. Just find some gen Y female beings and ask them how it is to wear a bikini compared to wearing a suite. So far, Most of the women said no.

I have seen reasons that states bikinis look sexy, Can easily get tan, Is easier to change, Etc. But all of these can be solved with that if one is naked, And bikinis doesn't even need to exist in that state.

So far nude is legal and it is not "bad". And bikinis made nudes look bad, Made the exposure of private parts look embarrassing. So far no clothes can do better jobs of what bikini is trying to do than bikinis itself, And ah it is not comfortable, Really.

Clothing has many applications:

Protection
Fashion
Legality
Comfort
Decency

Whether or not a certain piece of clothing meets these criteria (for the most part) is opinionated. Since many people wear bikinis, There must be a large population that likes bikinis because it satisfies one or more of the stated criteria to their satisfaction.

Your "reasons" have been compromises for the most part. What if she feels comfortable in a bikini but not naked? What if she doesn't want to tan her private parts? What if she doesn't want to expose herself? What if she wears the bikini because she wants maximum skin exposure while still feeling decent?

Overall, You can always find some clothing (or lack of) that does a better job than a bikini at some aspect, But bikinis allow for a combination of many of these aspects to the satisfaction of those who wear it.

The mere fact that people wear it destroys your argument (since this is all really just opinion). Moreover, Like all clothing, There's a certain time and place where the clothing's attributes are maximized. Clearly, You wouldn't want to wear a suit on a hot day at the beach - you'd ruin the suit and overheat/dehydrate. At that point, The suit will have failed in many attributes.

All people agree on the topic that the primary purpose of clothing is protection from the harsh. And when you HAVE clothes, You then go for decoration. This is why a $1, 000 gucci hoodie is as a worth as a $20 hoodie you can buy from the local target, And the only reason one would buy a $1000 gucci jacket is that they are spoiled rich and that they don't know how to spend money.

Note Wikipedia, One of the most central places if you wanted to get points said: The most obvious function of clothing is to protect the wearer from the elements. In hot weather, Clothing provides protection from sunburn or wind damage. In the cold it offers thermal insulation. Shelter can reduce the functional need for clothing.

Now Bikini may be good for decoration but it barely qualify as clothing anyways. Clothes are supposed to protect you. Bikinis are so bad at doing this that only a nipple and the lower genitals are covered. Its coverage and protection is at its minimalistic state. You cannot go any less than this or it is nude.

Note that literally anything protects better than this piece. Let's say, A suit. Great, A suit protects most of your body. A set of bikinis covers less of your body than, Let's say a suit, Hoodie, Or bulletproof vest. The only reason one would wear bikinis is that they wanted to be vulnerable to literally anything. Having bikinis in the cold, You will be frozen. Having it in the hot, It is rather easy to not just to get tan, But sunburn. Having it in the war, One shot you dead. Having it in the slums, More chance of getting raped. Having it in the highest quality area possible, Such as the richest business area of India, It would be sacrilegious consider literally all other ones wear suits, Black pants, Red ties. Almost, There are literally everything that can replace bikinis as a whole, As well as other types. There are plastic suits that:
-Have more coverage
-Comfortable
-Can at least give protection better
-Can adjust the temperature inside

Believe me. This is much more expensive. But bikinis are cheaper and that is why people buy it. According to your logic people would buy the real super nintendo instead of the crappy chinese ripoffs made in the illegal factories in the suburbs, And no one would purchase the later. But no, The reason fake ripoffs are sold is because it is cheaper, And that is how they make money. People buy it doesn't mean it is good. In fact rolls royce is better of a car than a corolla, But most people prefer corolla because it is cheaper.

Now we are talking about how it does, Not how much people buy it. There are all types of clothes that can exceed the use of it. There are even ones that can fully enhance it, Just more expensive.

"All people agree on the topic that the primary purpose of clothing is protection from the harsh"

Not really. If the main concern was protection, Clothes wouldn't be as they are today - they don't protect from anything really. All they do is keep us warm when needed and cover up our bodies for decency.

"This is why a $1, 000 gucci hoodie is as a worth as a $20 hoodie you can buy from the local target"

They're not worth the same. Quality wise there will likely be a big difference, But also their major difference in worth comes from the fashion aspect. A brand name will make someone feel more stylish than a cheap garment.

"In hot weather, Clothing provides protection from sunburn or wind damage"

As in. . . VERY hot sandy desert? Again, Protection in day-to-day life is minimal. If the sun is out and beating down on you with fury, Then yea you'd want to wear something to cover you up. However, Sunscreen and such is also important because you can't cover all of your skin. This doesn't make the clothing worthless, Just not what they were specifically designed for.

"Shelter can reduce the functional need for clothing. "

Though you rarely will step into someone's house and find them naked. This indicates another functional need for clothing other than protection.

"Now Bikini may be good for decoration but it barely qualify as clothing anyways"

Let's say you go to the beach naked - and it's not a nude beach. What are you lacking? Cover - clothing. A bikini has several functions: decency and fashion.

There are many pieces of clothing which, Like bikinis, Aren't for "protection". For example: Tank tops and underwear. I'm sure you've seen people wear things that just make you go, "Why? " Clothing has many purposes, And for the most part fashion has become an equal if not higher priority to protection.

"Note that literally anything protects better than this piece. Let's say, A suit"

If you were to replace bikinis with suits, You'd be doing the opposite of protection. Imagine a woman trying to swim with her bikini vs a suit. The suit will get in the way and won't even protect from the water. Instead, It'll soak it up and weigh her down. Bikinis have a purpose.

"easy to not just to get tan, But sunburn"

Sunscreen. You get get sunburn with any clothing, Like suits; as well as dehydrate from sweating.

"Having it in the war, One shot you dead. Having it in the slums, More chance of getting raped"

This can be said of all clothing. I don't know much clothing that would protect you from rape let alone a bullet. If someone is depraved and willing to rape, They can find any clothing appealing and wanting to rape.

"Believe me. This is much more expensive. But bikinis are cheaper and that is why people buy it. "

No one wants to go to the beach in a plastic suit - that's why they buy the bikini. No suit is ever going to replace a bikini. Sometimes people want to show off their bodies, Or feel the sun on their skin, While not nude.

"In fact rolls royce is better of a car than a corolla, But most people prefer corolla because it is cheaper. "

If a woman is offered a plastic suit (with all the features you mentioned) or a bikini to go to the beach with, I promise you they'll choose the bikini 9/10 times (1/10 to account for trolls).

"Now we are talking about how it does, Not how much people buy it. There are all types of clothes that can exceed the use of it. There are even ones that can fully enhance it, Just more expensive. "

All clothing has its purpose. You could argue that a jacket is bad as clothing because it'll heat you up in the summer time. This is your logic that you're using. You're ignoring the actual use-case of bikinis in order to claim that other clothes do better. We can sit here and argue about a rolls royce vs an F150, But if you wanted to tow and store a lot of equipment, You wouldn't dream of purchasing the rolls royce. Everything has its use-case.

"Not really. If the main concern was protection, Clothes wouldn't be as they are today - they don't protect from anything really. All they do is keep us warm when needed and cover up our bodies for decency. "

Keep us warm? Protection from the cold. Covering for decency? Mental protection. Now you may be wondering, "Hmm, Isn't mental protection still useful? Does that mean bikinis are useful too? " Well, Mental protection is the "second" job of clothing. Everything not for physical protection(overcoats, Bulletproof vests, Etc) is for mental protection(contemporary fashion, Dresses, Suits), And it is much less. Bikinis are less useful overall even if it excess in one field. That is also why a Ford Focus is technically better than Bluebird Drag car, Because it can be used on more roads and it is cheaper. Bikinis are used for only 1 type of place, And that is the place with recreational and safe liquid water. Pools, Beaches, Etc. But it is basically overtook by literally everything else when you are out of there.

"They're not worth the same. Quality wise there will likely be a big difference, But also their major difference in worth comes from the fashion aspect. A brand name will make someone feel more stylish than a cheap garment. "

Not really. It depends on what it is made of. If a badge is basically $0. 50, And you put this badge on a hoodie and quadruple its price it is not worth it. Its raw worth is not there yet consider they are literally lusting for wealth. The only reason people would buy stuff this expensive is that they don't know how to properly be rich and start a business, And that will go bankrupt if everybody knows what to buy. And ah yes, Bikinis. Call me a pervert but I just searched it for its price. HAh. The most expensive one there is like $79. 99. The mode of the prices is roughly about $19. And search the hoodies. A hoodie is potentially more protective than bikinis. And the mode is about $17. Knowing hoodies 1) can have enough fashion 2) are more protective, It is a better deal.

Now, Going to the waters is not necessary. But surviving in the cold is. Judging by the necessity, Bikinis are less useful than hoodies as it protects less from literally everything except a little mental state.

"Though you rarely will step into someone's house and find them naked. This indicates another functional need for clothing other than protection. "

But if you wear bikinis in house people are still going to call you "slutty". Judging by this I can confirm bikinis not only loses on physical protection but also a half of mental stability.

"If you were to replace bikinis with suits, You'd be doing the opposite of protection. Imagine a woman trying to swim with her bikini vs a suit. The suit will get in the way and won't even protect from the water. Instead, It'll soak it up and weigh her down. Bikinis have a purpose. "

Suits can do more than bikinis. It can bond deals, Make you look more professional, And bikinis, Not so much. Ok, Saying a stock Ford focus onto a 1/4 miler sprinter they will lose to a Bluebird drag car, But the drag car can barely even drive on the normal road in Honolulu. Everything has its use, And bikinis have less than most of clothes.

"If a woman is offered a plastic suit (with all the features you mentioned) or a bikini to go to the beach with, I promise you they'll choose the bikini 9/10 times (1/10 to account for trolls). "

The reason they will do so is price. If I introduced ALL of the uses the plastic suit has she will 100% choose this if it was given free.

"We can sit here and argue about a rolls royce vs an F150, But if you wanted to tow and store a lot of equipment, You wouldn't dream of purchasing the rolls royce. Everything has its use-case. "

In this case, F150 is more useful in general. If you want to buy a lot load from Costco, F150 it is; but if you want to drive the Governor of Georgia to Atlanta, Rolls Royce it is. Now, There are more raw products than important people in most people's daily life, So F150 is technically more useful.

But bikinis are only used for 1 or 2 things that it is not even that useful anyway. Suits, Coats, Uniforms, Can do things that are covered more. More people go to work than have pool parties. Suits, Uniforms and coats win.

Argument done. See yours.

"Bikinis are less useful overall even if it excess in one field"

Imagine being in an environment where the sun feels nice, And the air is just right. Wearing clothing would only hinder this feeling, And wearing excessive clothing would leave you heated up.

"Bikinis are used for only 1 type of place"

Not really, But that's what they were made for. You're criticizing bikinis by comparing them to the "purpose" of other clothing. However, It's purpose is different. It's not meant for protection, But rather decency and to let you be able to feel the air, Sun, And water right on your skin. It's purpose is completely different - so you can't say, "Well, It doesn't protect against the cold like a hoodie! " because even then, A hoodie would be a HORRIBLE piece of clothing to have in summer. You shouldn't judge clothes by how well they'd do compared to clothing of other type and in situations they don't belong in - but rather by how well they do their DESIGNED purpose.

"Not really"

Fabric aside, The choice of stitching and how it's even made is important in the quality of clothing. Buying quality means it'll last and isn't likely to fall apart on you. This is not to say brand clothing isn't overpriced.

"Now, Going to the waters is not necessary. But surviving in the cold is. "

By the standards of survival - yes. However, If you want to survive the desert heat, A hoodie could literally cause your death. So do hoodies fail as clothing too? No, Because I've taken the hoodie way out of its element, I've tried to say the hoodie is bad because it fails in a situation it's NOT meant for. You're doing the same with the bikini - judging it under a broad "survival" definition of clothing. Not all clothing is for protection and such, And defining clothing this way is only limiting yourself on what clothing really is. And if a piece of clothing is excelling at a "secondary" function, Then it's valuable in that it maximizes that function when needed - something you've not considered.

"But if you wear bikinis in house people are still going to call you "slutty". Judging by this I can confirm bikinis not only loses on physical protection but also a half of mental stability. "

Depends on where you are. Ever been to California? You'd just a newbie who doesn't belong if you never wear a bikini and wear a suit everywhere.

"Suits can do more than bikinis"

My car can do more than a suit. This isn't an argument - especially considering that suits aren't just a single piece of clothing. This is like arguing that 10 people can defeat 1 wimpy kid. Moreover, Again, The suit is made for a different purpose than a bikini.

"If I introduced ALL of the uses the plastic suit has she will 100% choose this if it was given free. "

I'd bet my life no one would choose the plastic suit over the bikini if they were limited to only use the suit WHENEVER they'd otherwise have used a bikini.

"but if you want to drive the Governor of Georgia to Atlanta, Rolls Royce it is"

Exactly, But you're not giving this same flexibility to bikinis.

"There are more raw products than important people in most people's daily life, So F150 is technically more useful. "

Gas conservation? Lower monthly payments?

"But bikinis are only used for 1 or 2 things that it is not even that useful anyway"

Anything can be useful as well as nothing. It depends on how you define useful with your own priorities. Therefore, This isn't exactly a valid argument. I could say that an FBI agent wanted to seduce a guy to get info out of him, So she decided to wear a bikini. This would be extremely useful, Especially if she wanted to blend in at the beach.

"Suits, Uniforms and coats win. "

Bikini Uniforms
