This is my first proper debate so I apologise in advance. In my opinion, The black lives matter movement shouldn't exist. If people wish to promote equality between all races, Should they not promote all lives matter? Therefore my argument is that Black Lives Matter, Is only targetting one race rather than all the races, Which too could face issues in society. I would also like to point out that although the matter at first helped with civil rights and all, It has lost its true meaning, And should start advocating for something targetting everyone.

Thanks for the debate!

I am arguing that Black Lives Matter should exist. Your whole argument basically says that Black Lives Matters targets only black people and leaves out other races, Which creates discrimination. This is completely wrong. Would you tell a teacher that they have to stop teaching unless they teach elementary, Middle school, High school, College, AND graduate school? No, Because that's ridiculous. There is no reason not to focus on one group.

Black Lives Matter simply focuses on the injustices committed towards African Americans, Because they experience much more than the average white person. That is why it is important.

Personally, In the UK, Discrimination is not mostly targetted towards the Black race, But instead immigrants. From the point of an immigrant (me), I've found that my black friends face less discrimination than me and my other friends from Eastern Europe. My argument is that people promote black lives, And they promote equality, However, It feels as though they are isolating themselves. Instead of a movement, Which further isolates a certain race, Shouldn't people promote a movement that gains equality for all? Additionally, If police show brutality towards an African-American man, The community explodes, Yet if such action happens against; for example a Mexican, The media does not show the same coverage.

Black Lives Matter is based more in the US, And Americans are MUCH more racists than Europeans. But again, This is not a reason to get rid of Black Lives Matter.

"Instead of a movement, Which further isolates a certain race, Shouldn't people promote a movement that gains equality for all? "

Why not both? There's nothing stopping you from promoting an organization that promotes equality for all.

"Additionally, If police show brutality towards an African-American man, The community explodes, Yet if such action happens against; for example a Mexican, The media does not show the same coverage. "

How is this a reason to stop Black Lives Matter? It just means that we might need a Hispanic Lives Matter.

Your point is to make separate movements, However, This further supports my argument that people should not isolate themselves. Not to sound insensitive, But the black lives matter movement is a bit selfish. There should be one cause for everyone. There shouldn't be 'Black lives matter. ' or 'Hispanic lives matter. ' It should be all lives matter, To say one community is worth more than the other is what it feels like they are promoting.

The point where you say 'Why not both? There's nothing stopping you from promoting an organization that promotes equality for all. ' When people do that, It seems racist, It seems like it's belittling the black lives matter movement. Not my words by the way. People, Even those who advocate the Black Lives Matter movement, Should support a movement that helps everyone and not only themselves.

They are not isolating themselves, They are simply pointing out the issues of one specific group. Even if you had one big organization, It would have to break up into divisions in the end because the same problems don't affect the same demographics.

"The point where you say 'Why not both? There's nothing stopping you from promoting an organization that promotes equality for all. ' When people do that, It seems racist, It seems like it's belittling the black lives matter movement. "

So then you have to decide that you don't care what other people think.

"Not my words by the way. People, Even those who advocate the Black Lives Matter movement, Should support a movement that helps everyone and not only themselves. "

I never said that we shouldn't support one for everyone, But that still isn't a reason to get rid of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Perhaps if this debate was much longer, With more in depth arguments, And more rounds, Picking a winner would be much easier. And to Pro, With this being your first proper debate, You did a good job, Keep it up.

First time voting in a debate with one of my friends in it. @Speedrace don't take this vote personally please! I acknowledge that the both of you did good. If you have a problem then we can go outside and duke it out, But I've seen many people go off on others expecting them to be bias because it's their friend. But yeah, Don't want this to happen here. The bottom line is, This debate was actually pretty short. Had both of you made much longer and in depth arguments, My choice would be much easier, Because I have the both of you doing real good.

One of their original founders back in 2012 is on the FBI'S most wanted TERRORISTS with a 2 million dollar reward. Her mission was to create a race war between delusional blacks and cops. She got what she wanted. She killed a cop and escaped to Cuba. In St. Louis, There was a protest quoting and praising her.

The Charlotte Riots: A BLM protest, White people were being beat up and were screaming for mercy. Rocks were being thrown at rocks and trucks, Stores, And buildings were looted. A state of emergency was declared and The national Guard has been deployed. Everywhere BLM goes, Hate, Riots and destruction follows. If these were a minority, How come everywhere BLM goes-violence goes. Ferguson, Baltimore, Salt-Lake City, Dallas, Milwaukee, Detroit, Etc, Etc. It's not a coincidence. Whenever this stupid narrative is pushed by Obama and MSM, Violence happens right after. BLM is a hateful movement at heart. We have never seen this out of the KKK or other groups that are claimed to be violent. Other groups do not see the level of riots seen at BLM protests. Feminists don't burn down cities. If there was violence at every tea Party event, Then the MSM would be ALL OVER the Tea Party. Hence, Why only 37% of blacks support BLM now, And only 11% for all citizens.

If BLM cared about Black people, They would address these issues. The percentage of blacks murdered by other blacks before BLM existed was 91%. Today it is anywhere near 87% to 94%. Or how about blacks are 4x more likely to undergo an abortion. In NYC, More black babies were aborted than born. Same in Georgia. How about The Victim Mentality, Urban terrorism, 80 years of KKK lynching is just 6 months of black on black crime. A lack of fathers and brainwashing from Democrats, Black kids undergraduates, And high prison rates. They only care about money. Join BLEXIT if black. Blacks are waking up as only 37% of them support BLM.

Think for your yourself if you are black.

@Speedrace
Why black kids aren"t graduating high school?
Why black kids are shooting each other in rates significantly higher than whites are shooting each other?

Why 13% of the population is responsible for 50% of the murder? Why the number of blacks, Black kids in prison not for innocent reasons, Not for walking down the street and getting pulled into a prison is so high?

Why the single motherhood rate in the black community jumped from 20% to 70% in the same course of time that the Civil Rights Movement has made such tremendous strides?
Is America more racist now than it was in 1960, And if it is, Please explain to me how that happened?

@Speedrace, Not an American here, But from which sources you get that racism still exists over there?

Reasons for voting decision: This is for Pro, so they can understand: Some people tend to get Black Lives Matter misconstrued. They think BLM means that other lives don't, When that is not the case. BLM means that black lives matter too. It isn't an anti white movement, Its a pro black movement. We aren't saying that black lives are more meaningful than everyone else's, We are saying black lives are just as meaningful as everyone else's. The BLM movement isn't about separation, Segregation or disengagement. The BLM movement is about a positive resolution. In actuality, I have both of you tied. Both Pro and Con did good. I am actually on Con's side of the debate. I believe in BLM. But I feel like Pro made some good points even though I disagree with their stance (not saying Con didn't bring any valid points because they did as well). Pro's R2 is my favorite, and Con's R1 is my favorite. Good job to both. Y'all both win in my book. I will put the rest of my reasons in the comments. Running out of space.
