it is a joke under our capitalist society.

I disagree. Sure gambling should be well regulated but shutting the industry would not be the answer. My ex's mom used to go to the Casino 2-3 times a week which I always thought was quite excessive. So I questioned her on it because I thought it an absurd way to waste money. She explained it to me like this.
She spends 3-4 hours in the casino. Sometimes she wins, But more often, She loses. In the meantime, Her husband goes and watches his bout of live sports and the daughter had endless entertainment in fun land and the cinemas. I personally find my entertainment through sport. One of my favourite being go-carting. As it turns out, My hourly spend speeding endlessly around the same track overtaking and being overtaken by other carts and getting a piece of paper with my times and standings gave me immense satisfaction but actually cost me more per hour to do than what she spends pushing the same button on a machine with spinning pictures for hours. We would all go to a restaurant on the trip for dinner which always ran her more from the pocket than her evening in the casino.
Basically, The way she sees it, She is paying to have fun. Now you may go ahead and try question whether this could actually be entertaining if you wish, But to her and scores more, That's all gambling is. A way to unwind. And like everything, It costs money.
Why should the casino's not be open to those who wish to use the time for entertainment?
Added to this, Think of all income this generates. Think not just of the slot machines but the dependant businesses which live on the existence of the casino. Hotels, Restaurants, Nightclubs, Cinema's, Kids entertainment, Broadway shows, Cabarets and musical etc.
If you close down the gambling industry, Vegas would become a ghost town overnight. Hundreds of thousands of entertainers, Bartenders, Waitresses, Hotel staff etc. Would be jobless overnight.

The way I see it, There are thousands of very well-to-do people who make boatloads of money. Why not have an industry which redistributes it to the plethora of lower-middle class workers who benefit from the existence of the gambling industry.
Debate Round No. 1

Casinos are just a legal excuse for the corporation(government if communist) to rob you.
Most people just go there and lose money for 0 reason let along they've fallen for the trap of the corporation to free rob you wantedly. It is just a coat being fancy but hiding the truth.

If the government just knocks on your door, Saying, Hey, Give 50, 000 dollars to me! You wouldn't want it because you earned nothing; but if the corporation tells you that there is a casino they opened for the recent days and tells you to gamble there as much as you want, With a VIP pass(first of all, The VIP pass doesn't make you luckier), Then you would lose the same money with barely any successes. Of course you would accept you loss, Then you adjust it unless I tell you you are being a lazy pig for 6 months and used up all your friends money and now they are in debt because of you.

Why does corporations want lazy peoples anyway. Don't they want people that can actually make money instead of a crazy anti-nerd sitting on a slot machine with no life? Why does country needs that? If casinos were shut then the society would gain quicker since there are better ways to earn instead of just sitting on top of some poker thingys.

The person you know doesn't matter unless she's really famous or the president of the united states.
