Humans are indeed the most peaceful creatures that ever existed. The argument for the topic is, The dino era is the most peaceful era because the earth was more peaceful, Evolution destroyed us in a way and humans are more stupid for causing things to get worse. The dinosaurs are more peaceful in their respective period and nothing went wrong because they lived for 300 million years without ill happenings occuring. The only way they were swept off was because of a natural calamity (asteroid). My counter is that humans have evolved to an extent where even though we have weapons of mass destruction, We still have peace. Even though nuclear things occur we have peace. The dino era and other eras without humans were bad too because they did the same, They would have evolved eventually and become human like creature. Continue the argument.

" My counter is that humans have evolved to an extent where even though we have weapons of mass destruction, We still have peace. "

This is irrelevant, Humans can still achieve peace however it is still undeniable that humans are the most violent creatures throughout history. This is as if I stated that the holocaust wasn't the most catastrophic event since some Jews survived, Or that slavery is moral since not all slave owners were bad.

To give everyone an idea of the most violent acts humans have done throughout history and the most horrible people, Here's a list.

1. Joseph Stalin was a psychopath who genocided millions and kicked one of his own wives to death and then tried to claim he was innocent.

2. Adolf Hitler was a man who was responsible for the Holocaust which led to millions dead and was ( arguably ) responsible for WW2 which was one of the deadliest wars in history.

3. British India which consisted of the persecution of millions of Indians.

4. Russian Civil War which led to millions of dead

5. The Atomic Bombs which led to a great loss of life and destruction of the environment.

6. Genghis Khan, A man who raped so many people in his life that it's estimated he still has 16 million descendants alive today. This isn't even going over the people he killed through his conquest as well.

7. Slavery in America and all around the world ( self explanatory )

8. European Colonization of the Americas, Which led to the death of 100 Million people.

9. 9/11 which led to thousands dead.

10. The Columbine Highschool shooting which saw 2 gunmen kill 13 people and injure 24.

To conclude while the human race is certainly capable of kindness and peace, There is no other creature comparable that has caused more damage than us.

Maybe human beings are both the most peaceful and the least peaceful creatures on Earth. We are capable of reason, Morality and abstract thinking. Therefore when the vast majority of us purposely band together and choose to live peacefully it has greater moral implications (whereas animals may not be consciously aware of their peaceful behaviour). Humans are, However, Capable of total devastation and malice.

" Complaining about the way in which we kill animals isn't really a valid argument either, Wild dogs in Africa tear apart deer as they're still standing, "

- This is an appeal to futility since you're basically stating that since we can't prevent ALL suffering, This makes ALL suffering ok.

" It's just that they didn't have a massively overpowered race like humans to continue this destruction at a rate that would put them far, Far above other organisms and to actually make an impact on the world. "

- Ok so then you agree that humans since they are an overpowered race, Have had a detrimental impact on the world.

- The potential for human beings to be peaceful isn't a very wise argument as I already addressed in my opening argument. By this logic dinosaurs or any other creature for that matter would be exempt from being the most violent since they have the potential to be good. I don't care about potentiality, I care about reality, And the reality is human beings are the most violent creatures to ever walk the earth so far.

Humans are unique in our intellect but also our unique ability to show compassion and understanding for one another. This ability to show compassion is what helped us establish civilisations and make many leaps and bounds in our development as a species. I'd argue that humans are the most peaceful creatures that ever existed in history.
The argument of "oh, We destroyed many trees and wiped out a gigantic chunk of life on Earth" is a really shitty argument. We're doing what we can to survive, It's just the Industrial Revolution meant that we could afford to take more than we really needed and actually start to indulge in luxuries that we didn't really need.
Complaining about the way in which we kill animals isn't really a valid argument either, Wild dogs in Africa tear apart deer as they're still standing, Shocked and in absolute agony. Most modern animals don't really have a capacity to feel compassion and regardless of the agonised cries they just do whatever they wish to do in order to kill something. We usually know the anatomy of the animal we're killing and do so in an arguably less painful way.
Dinosaurs (really really confusing argument by the way, Most of us don't even know how they killed other dinosaurs) went around brutally disembowelling other dinosaurs in order to live (at least the meat eaters did), It's just that they didn't have a massively overpowered race like humans to continue this destruction at a rate that would put them far, Far above other organisms and to actually make an impact on the world.
