I will allow my opponent to go first.

Notwithstanding the fact that Pro merely asked a question rather than stating a definitive proposition.

Nor was there any indication of what timeframe we are supposed to be regarding.

Although I have no interest in Basketball whatsoever. Referencing freely available online data, Leads me to come to the conclusion that there are a multitude of "players" who might qualify for the above accolade.

In fact Lebron doesn't seem to rank at the top of many lists at all.

So on this basis I would therefore think it fair to suggest that LeBron is not highly regarded enough to be awarded the "Still the Best Player" title. Or in fact; the ever "The Best Player" title.

I would further suggest that perhaps Pro's statement is somewhat more subjectively generated, Rather than being completely evidence based.

Okay my bad about the misunderstanding about the "question" instead of a definitive statement. The question was if he is the best player in the nba, Inferring the current landscape. And of course not all of it is going to be purely evidence based, Which there are numbers to prove that in a season where lebron got hurt half way through the year still put the same numbers as the top players in the NBA. He averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds, And 8 assists on the Lakers this year, Which is on par with any other player. Remember last year when he took over the eastern conference single handedly, Beating more talented teams in front of him solely because of him. Look at the Cavs with and without him, With him they make the NBA finals, And without are one of the worsts teams in the NBA. Debating who the best player is does not solely lie on stats, It is also on the eyeball test, Watching Lebron carry any team he is on, Watching how easily he can take over a game, How he can get to the basket, Has a jumper, And has a three point shot, And is a clutch player with multiple game winners. And to say that

Very sorry.

I didn't notice the time limit on this debate.

I was too busy yesterday to spend much time debating.
