PC is better than consoles.
Here is why. (Piracy is bad btw. ) Here is the 500$ PC build i was talking about. Https://pcpartpicker. Com/list/ctvYsZ All parts new. Cost: Consoles: 400-500$ one-time pay. 60 dollars per year for online. PC: 500$ one time pay. Free online. Games: Consoles: (PS4 only since xbox has play anywhere) Some notables are: God of War, Uncharted, Gran Turismo) PC: Some notables are: Star Citizen, Unturned, Squadron 42, Dirty Bomb, PC also gets access to EVERY exclusives due to emulation. Emulation is actually legal. Specs: The PC I picked out vs PS4 PRO vs XBOX one X PC: 3. 5 GHZ 8 core APU, GPU: 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 8GB GDDR5, 240GB SSD, 2TB Hard drive. PS4 PRO. $400 CPU: 2. 1GHZ 8core. GPU: 1. 84 Teraflops. RAM: 8GB GDDR5. Storage: 1TB Hard Drive. Xbox One X: 500$ CPU: 2. 3 GHZ 8 cores. GPU: 6 Teraflops performance RAM: 12GB GDDR5 Storage: 1TB PC wins in Specs. Not even talking about Steam Sales or Overclocking. Also not talking about other things you can make with a PC. PC is better than consoles. So much better. And THAT IS WHY PC IS BETTER THAN CONSOLES. Con Basically, It is the 'a lot' from the question that is contestable, Pcs and consoles are not objectively better than one another. If you want a graphical powerhouse and can afford a huge amount up front, Then great, Get a pc. If you want decent graphics for half the up front cost, XBONE or PS4 is a good choice. If you value flexibility and portability, Suddenly, The Switch becomes your best option. It depends on what you want to use it for. |

Pay more money up front? I literraly included the price. The Xbox one X and a PC are the same price.
Why did you accept this challenge if you didnt want to debate me correctly? Con He seems to think his PC will work as well as an Xbox One X. Unfortunately, Picking the cheapest compatible components on PC part picker will rarely achieve a good PC, As seen by the one he has built. I ran the components through UserBenchmarks, And found that, Throughout games that came out after 2013, It averages below 20fps (4K), Which is unacceptable, In my opinion, To present in a debate. The fact is that this PC is WORSE than an xbox one x, Which can run 4k at 30fps (It doesn't sound like much of a difference, But 20-30 fps is the difference between playable and unplayable. He also neglects to include the price of a monitor, Mouse and keyboard. For excellent versions of each of these, That will set you back another "4-500, Compared to "250 for a 4K TV, And controllers are included. For a PC that you may want to play 4K games on, As in, They are more than a pretty slideshow, It will cost you slightly over "1000. This, In my eyes, Demonstrates pro's lack of research and knowledge In this debate. It is also worth noting that pro nitpicked a small part of my point, Which means he accepts the rest of it. So, Pro, "if you don't want to debate correctly" why are you on a debating site? |

First, The other page for console vs PC could not be accessed due to an error. It would lead me to a different debate under the same name. Stop using ad hominem please.
Second, What user benchmarks did you use? If you used the site, You would not get 20 fps. I will have to call you a liar. You have not looked at all of the site, And if you have you would have saw- RX 580- Counter Strike MAX Graphics 160 FPS. Fortnite MAX graphics 91 FPS GTA V- MAX graphics 56 FPS. and so on. Will you stop lying? You have just assumed something without EVEN CHECKING IT. OMG. You just said I failed to include a TV and keyboard and mouse with the build. Okay, You got me on the keyboard and mouse. But TV? If i walk into best buy I GET A FREE TV WITH AN XBOX? If it will rarely achieve what it is promising, Then why do professionals (that I asked) told me that the build can get high fps on the most demanding of games and can keep at 60fps? And while you might say having 16 GB of DDR4 ram is bad, Or having an SSD and 2 TB storage and faster processer and GPU is bad, You still will not see how much more you can do on an xbox. Can you edit videos and upload them to youtube on xbox? What about downloading anything? Free online? Steam, Which is an overall better platform with more games? Editing videos? Discord, And other communication platforms? How about Chrome and having two monitors? How about upgradability? How about less control over the consumer? Better practices (no exclusives, Free online, Etc)? Mods? Emulation (which is legal actually)? Here are some REAL FPS i found on a test video Just cause 3- 28FPS GTA V- 58! Crysis 3- 50 COD WW2- 28 etc. Seems to beat console huh? Seems like the only way to upgrade your console is either you know, Getting your hands dirty and rewiring or just buying a newer one. Con This is the site pro got his information from. Https://gpu. Userbenchmark. Com/AMD-RX-580/Rating/3923 Now, Yes, Pro's fps' are correct, For 1080p (a very important piece of information pro neglected to include in his debate). When we consider 4K, Which is what we are actually talking about in this debate (we are comparing Pro's 'gaming' PC to an XBOX One X) You get frame rates around 20fps. Take Assassins creed unity, A 5 year old game, And the 580 runs at a solid 19fps. "Okay, You got me on the keyboard and mouse. But TV? If i walk into best buy I GET A FREE TV WITH AN XBOX? " This tells me that you didn't even read the debate. This is what I put. "He also neglects to include the price of a monitor, Mouse and keyboard. For excellent versions of each of these, That will set you back another "4-500, Compared to "250 for a 4K TV, And controllers are included. " The TV is for the console, Not the PC. "If it will rarely achieve what it is promising, Then why do professionals (that I asked) told me that the build can get high fps on the most demanding of games and can keep at 60fps? " They were obviously talking about 1080p. I'm sure the unnamed professionals you asked probably mentioned that. This pretty obviously contains an argument from authority fallacy, Which can easily be debunked by 5 seconds of research. "And while you might say having 16 GB of DDR4 ram is bad, Or having an SSD and 2 TB storage and faster processer and GPU is bad" I didn't say that. 'Can you edit videos and upload them to youtube on xbox? What about downloading anything? " (You can do this just make sure you have good AV "Free online? Steam, Which is an overall better platform with more games? Editing videos? " The PC you have built for us would take about two weeks to render a video in good quality "Discord, And other communication platforms? How about Chrome and having two monitors? How about upgradability? How about less control over the consumer? " NVIDIA disagrees Better practices (no exclusives, Free online, Etc)? Mods? Emulation (which is legal actually)? ' NO. Not if you don't previously own the game - this makes it piracy, And in clear violation of copyright law. If you use an emulator to emulate a game you own on dvd or something, That is slightly different. Also, For a PC to emulate something well, You need a lot of power. To emulate a modern XBONE, PS4 or Switch game, You need to wait for quite a while for it to work, And then have a ridiculously powerful PC. Secondly, Not every game can be emulated, Only a few - a high profile case of this is Persona 5, Where ATLUS took down the site to download the emulation. Now, Pro's list is great (apart from the fact that quite a lot of it can be replicated on a "150 laptop) and a good reason to buy a pc. If pro actually read any of my debates, He would know I said "Basically, It is the 'a lot' from the question that is contestable, Pcs and consoles are not objectively better than one another. " A PC, Depending on who you are, Is better than console, But for others it isn't. Now, You still fail to mention the switch, Which is the centrepiece of my argument. It encapsulates everything a console can do better (unless you are prepared to lug half a room around with you) with its portability, And is even a great supplement to a pc if you have one, But in my mind it perfectly shows that a PC is not 'a lot' better than consoles, But better for some people. |

How did you even find this, It ended months ago, Because pro here gets close to losing a debate and then disappears
And also because I saw too much BS written here to not respond.
You realize that that consoles are also computers right? Everything with a processing chip (CPU) is a computer, Including your phone. So not only is your statement completely wrong anyway, But it shows a dramatic ignorance.
"And no super mario bros, Nor sonic the hedgehog, Nor mario kart 64, Nor zelda 64, Nor smash ultimate. "
You can play them on PC. There are lots of emulators to choose from. Any semi-powerful machine can give you nice gameplay.
There was some battle royal style thing where they put pro Xbox players up against some normal PC players (Xbox players played on their controllers). It apparently wasn't even close, The PC players completely annihilated them. The only comeback to this one is that you can now attach a keyboard and mouse to the PS4 I think.
2) exclusives were mentioned
3) the switch exists, So literally like 2 people care about the wii u
