I think the legal driving age should be raised to 21 for many reasons. Firstly at 18 some adults haven"t fully matured. From age 18-24 of the 2. 8 billion drivers in this group 9 in every 1, 000 drivers were involved in an RTC. This is four times higher than those over 70 currently still holding a license.

Many young people at the age of 18 like to party and think that taking the car to the party is acceptable. We need tougher drink driving laws and young people need to be more educated on the effects that drink driving has on you or the society.

"at 18 some adults haven"t fully matured"

They are still considered adults and must be given rights accordingly.

"From age 18-24 of the 2. 8 billion drivers in this group 9 in every 1, 000 drivers were involved in an RTC"

Hows this an argument saying they shouldn't?

"Many young people at the age of 18 like to party and think that taking the car to the party is acceptable. . . We need tougher drink driving laws and young people need to be more educated on the effects that drink driving has on you or the society. "

I can maybe agree with your solution here, But how is raising the legal drinking age going to solve these issues?

A bus has the job of travelling throughout the city, You can't expect it to suit the needs of everyone. If you need to travel far everyday, That's HOURS wasted - getting up earlier, Going to the bus, And sitting there until it eventually gets to your destination - every single day. Obviously, If this can be avoided by just having people able to drive themselves, This should be done.

Once 18, They've finished school and go to college or work - or both. No one is obligated to hold their hand at this point, And they need to be able to transport themselves. Moreover, If you say that the legal driving age needs to go up higher, You're simply setting people up for failure. The longer they wait to be able to drive, The longer it'll take them to actually learn the skill appropriately. All the issues you think is being caused by 18-20 year olds will then occur with 21-23 year olds since you cut them from being able to learn the years prior.

At some point, You have to let people go and make their own decisions and LEARN from them. Just because some fail, Doesn't mean it's a good idea to take away their ability to drive. Only at this younger age can they actually learn for the future.
