Have you lived before? Most people think so. I personally feel that reincarnation is not logical.

Socrates said " I am confident that there is such a thing as living again that the living spring from the dead and that the souls of the dead are in existence"
Even Plato believed in reincarnation.
33% of American adults believe in reincarnation. There are several accounts of children who have been reincarnated. These children remember vivid things that they did in their past lives. These stories can be verified by history books and war records.

First of all, If reincarnation is true why don't we all remember our previous lives? The reality is-most people on earth have no recollection at all of having lived before. Do you have a recollection of your past life? According to reincarnation, The reason for coming back again to life is to work off bad karma. If we are to work off back karma won't it be reasonable for all eight billion humans living on earth to remember their past so that we can improve their present. Does that sound logical?

You highlighted the fact that some children have a recollection of their past lives. Consider this- the human minds greatest weakness is to create concepts that fit into their beliefs and then believe that it is the absolute truth.
Our subconscious mind constitutes a storehouse of information much more than we can ever imagine. So under hypnosis the subjects consciousness is changed so that forgotten memories can surface. Some interpret those forgotten memories as being of a past life experience.

Further, There is no mechanism known to modern science that would enable a personality to survive death and travel to another body.
A person inherits 50% of his genes from each biological parent. So it is unscientific for a person to be 100% like someone in a previous life.

Also, If reincarnation was logical then there should be more good people living than bad people. According to Karma, Past lives of goodness or badness affect the quality and position of your next reincarnation. Good people are reborn as humans while bad people are reborn as animals or plants. If this was logical how come our world is filled with bad people. Karma should solve the problem of evil in this world. It does the opposite. It promoted evil. How is this belief logical?

If reincarnation was logical, The population should decrease instead of increase. According to reincarnation new souls are never created or destroyed. So why is the population increasing? Tertulian said "If the living come from the dead just as the dead procured from the living there must always remain unchanged one in the same number in mankind. " The living outnumber the dead.

Further, The system of karma states that there is no individual self. They deny the existence of any self. If there is no self how can a person be reincarnated as another self?

Moreover, Reincarnation makes evil eternal. If people are suffering they cannot be given any help. Because if you help those who suffer, Karma will make them return in another lifetime to work off bad karma. Because karma claims people suffer because of some past evil deed. So we don't need hospitals, Doctors or medicine. Because karma will bring the people who are saved back to work off bad karma. Which makes no sense.

Reincarnation offers no hope. After a person has been reincarnated and has worked off bad karma that person melts back into the universe after the cycle.

In conclusion, Most people believe in reincarnation because the desire to live is strong in all humans. So the idea that one never really dies but instead one is reborn over and over again seems appealing.
Yet, No one wants to die because God created us with the desire to live forever. Ecclesiastes 3:11"God put eternity in the human heart".

When people die, They are really dead. Nothing escapes death. Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6-" For the living know that they will die but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all. "

Ecclesiastes 3:19-" For there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast and they have the same eventuality. As one dies so the other dies. All are going to one place. They have all come from dust and they are returning to dust. "

Fadilah, Thanks for accepting this challenge.

About 35% of children who claim to remember previous lives have birthmarks or scars that a attributed to the wounds on a person whose life the child remembers.
Life is cyclical. Day becomes night. Night becomes day. Seasons change. That's how our world works. Birth death rebirth is all cyclic in life.
We suffer because we desire the transient.
There are several scientist who think that reincarnation is logical.
