Pro The French revolution forged the modern world in pools of blood it was messy but necessary to change things for the much much better Report this Argument Con No it didn't. Why do you think that the fall of monarchy was a good thing? Report this Argument
Pro Because aristocrats are parasites as were the church, At least the business classes and middle classes produce things there is still exploitation that needs to be remedied but the monarchy and the church were oppressive and held down the masses. Every singe lone of them deserved the national razor i would hav killed them with my bare hands if i had been there. I LIKE TO THINK I WAS Report this Argument Con Sure and what has a republican style society given us? Domocracy has no ablity to plan for the future. It's all about the now! Pro What has democracy given us? Not perfect as a socialist i admit but prosperity human rights, A life expectancy of average 80 about doubt wha t was 100 years ago democracy has been an absolute marvel Report this Argument Con The constitution gave us rights not Democracy for the most part. It is because of the democratic proces we have less rights. I would rather live under Bismarck's Germany then a full on democracy. The reason why we have a life expectancy of about 80 is because medical technology has advanced not because we get to choice which warmonger to have "hm should I chose the low tax corperatist party or the high tax but cheep healthcare corperatist party? Norway is the most democratic nation on earth consult the democracy index the more deomcratic a ntion is, The mosre prosperous it is and the longer its people like healthy lives

If there is one thing the French Revolution did, Is that it didn't learn from what the US created in 1776; a nation that was NOT a democracy, But a constitutional republic. The FR is a prime example of why democracy does not work.

Where are you getting your history from? The French Revolution started classic modernity -- early modernity had began centuries earlier. How exactly then did it then begin the modern period?
