They say that the greatest fear is the fear of fear itself.

But, What really are phobias all about?

We all know about claustrophobia (the fear of being in confined spaces), agoraphobia (the opposite, Huh) and arachnophobia and maybe you've heard of hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia (fear of the number 666).

But, Since this is a religion forum, Let's unpack a phobia more commonly associated with those of a penchant for imaginary friends. For example, (oh geez there are so many to choose from) we'll randomly choose, Ooooh, Um, Oh yeah; "homophobia".

It's an interesting one since those who reside on the other side of the reality fence often ask, "why the f*ck do they call our hatred of poofters a phobia? "

Well, It's very straight (excuse the pun) forward really. You see, A phobia is a fear:
fear | fia |
noun [mass noun] an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, Pain, Or harm:

Fear is born out of ignorance and therapists universally agree that the way of overcoming one's fear is to face one's fear and embrace it.

So, Here's a great tip for all you religious folk to help overcome your ugly fear of completely normal (and probably more articulate and intelligent) people.
Simply walk down to your nearest Woody's or Hobos bar, Eye up the nearest guy wearing a string vest and hotpants, Wrap your arms around him and declare out loud, "I love you".

Now, Isn't that nice?
