A person Becomes a Christian at the Point of Baptism and not before

I affirm that a person who believes that Jesus is the Christ, must be baptized into Christ in order to become a Christian and thus are saved. The baptism I am talking about is (one of water, Total immersion) Thereby no matter how much a person has emotions for God or Jesus, belief alone will not saved a person from their sins. (infant baptism is not in consideration here because a baby is not a believer, and has not sin). This debate is solely focused on adult baptism. Accepted evidence in th...
My profile picture resembles the Statue of Liberty

I have been wondering if anybody noticed that my profile picture resembles the Statue of Liberty. I took the picture myself. It's from a bonfire at my 18th birthday. For comparison, here is a nice picture of the Statue of Liberty http://www.aviewoncities.com/gallery/showpicture.htm?key=kveus2420 Arguments: 1. The overall shape of the flame resembles the Statue of Liberty, being tall and t...
As the Bible describes God, He is inconsistent in His nature

Quite simply, although certain recorded actions of God in the Bible may appear to the untrained eye to be contradictory, an understanding of God's nature and attributes will show that God has done nothing contradictory that one can find in the Bible. My opponent need not agree with a single word in the Bible or that God exists, but we will not be debating such issues. As the written Bible exists today, I expect my opponent to cite examples of God being contradictory, and I will explain the al...

I contend that the wording of Genesis within the context of the Bible does not allow for the Day Age Theory, the Gap Theory, or the Framework Hypothesis. For the purposes of this debate, I ask that scientific arguments be kept to a minimum. By this I mean that I do not wish to delve into a debate on carbon dating, the big bang, how to explain distant starlight, etc. I wish to stick to the Bible, its wording, and whether or not we can interpret the Creation week as anything other than 24 days...
