If we give animals rights they wouldn't be able to comprehend what each right will provide them with. Animals shouldn't have rights
This is a false choice or a strawman frame. It would be better to ask what creatures have natural rights. If you frame it in this way it discounts rights to say that they are given by some supreme body and not natural rights of birth.
Also know that if "Rights" are given then they can be revoked and that inherently threatens all who have them and encourages the consolidation of power in the frame of defense.
People travel to loose themselves, To stretch, To grow. Under the assumption that you live in the USA then why limit those things to the western world. Go further, Go find a bit of yourself that has yet to be discovered. Then with the money you saved go to Europe later in life when the edges of the developing world are more dangerous to you.
