FSU wil win with guys like dwayne bacon and jonathon issac will beat you in the lane, AND kill you from outside. But thats not all they can do there the 3rd tallest team in the country with guys like koumadje ethos 7"4 and michael oho who's 7"1 and weighs 304 pounds they will out muscle you, out rebound you, beat you in the paint, but are also fast enough to win in transition and have great sharp shooters like dwayne bacon and jonathon issac. With an average height of 6"7 they have all the components of a championship team, but most importantly they can step up and make the big plays when they matter. Also they play junkyard physical defense.
Florida state will not win the NCAA basketball championship this year. There are too many other teams that are far better than none that stand a better chance of winning. Duke is one of those teams. While it is too early to say what team will or will not win, clearly, Florida State is not so elite that it will win the championship.
Just because they won one single game against a fairly decent opponent doesn't mean they have what it takes to be the champions. This type of thing happens all the time. When you play roughly 30 games a season, you are bound to lose one or two to a lower ranked team. It means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
The Seminoles lack the depth and firepower of title contenders North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Gonzaga and, believe it or not, Duke. While you cannot argue that Florida State has played great ball thus far - moving into the Top 10 of the Associated Press and Coaches Top 25 - only one team will cut down the nets in early April; I wouldn't bank on it being the Seminoles.
It's way too early in the season to assume that Florida State will win the NCAA title this year, because they beat Duke once. There are always teams that play for the post-season and Duke is one of those teams. They have a strategy to peak at the right time and this will help them when it ultimately comes down to the playoffs.
