About Me:I just found found this web page (9/30/2012). I hope it doesn't become an addiction and keep me from having a real life, but this looks like a lot of fun. I may occasionally defend views that I don't agree with. I do this for two reasons. First, because I think it's fun to play devil's advocate every now and then. Second, because I think defending an opposing view is a great way of learning about that view as well as exposing weaknesses in it and in your own view. In other words, it makes you sharper.

Free Will is Reasonable

I will define free will as the ability to have chosen otherwise within the same given circumstances. I am arguing that belief in free will is reasonable. Our experience of our willing seems to indicate that we have free will. The typical arguments against free will are flawed and are less convincing than the evident experience that we have free will. Con side will have to give an overwhelming argument for why determinism is more plausible than free will....

"Does philosophy and science work together to offer compelling evidence for the existence of God?"

The past has to be finite. If the universe never began to exist, then the number of the past events in the history of the universe is infinite. If all events are infinite then you cannot have infinite numbers of past events because it leads to absurdity. The universe must have a first event. You cannot have an infinite number of events this means that the universe must have a cause, it must have a first event. Based on the metaphysical principle something cannot come from nothing and therefore t...

Did Jesus really need to be crucified?

Take it as an alarm clock for us. Jesus"s mission was to save us from sin and part of the process was to make us realise we were sinners. Which was a wake up call for us. And also there is a reason why jesus was called the LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD. During jesus"s time when a person does something wrong, he/she will somehow pass on the fault to a lamb and the lamb would be killed for the mistake. So jesus was a lamb who took all our sins and beared the consequence for us....

The bible was written by some king thousands of years ago

I believe whole heatedly , the bible was written by someone in a high position thousands of years ago , to give the (then) current society a set of morals and values to live by. And I also believe god isn't real but is a made up leader of this fictional story. Give me a logical reason to think otherwise....
